Friendship Fountain and St. Johns RiverPark
1015 Museum Circle
Jacksonville, FL 32207
Friendship Fountain is located in St. Johns River Park (a/k/a Friendship Park), on the south bank of the river, just west of Main Street. Dedicated in 1965, it is one of the largest self-contained fountains built. The park boasts views of the St Johns River, the adjacent boat Marina, bridges, and the skyline of downtown Jacksonville. Parking is available in front and in the adjacent lot in front of River City Brewing Company. Be sure not to park in spaces marked for the restaurant.
It’s getting hot out, so lets plan on meeting at 8:00 am both Friday and Saturday.
What a great time we all had at the Zoo. Yes it was hot and then hotter, but every where you turned there was something else worth picking up a brush to paint. Literally! Gary Garrett painted four painting without moving from his spot. He just turned the easel a different direction. Some of us, however, moved to follow the shade. Thank you Lisa and Stephen for all the hard work.
We are so proud to have been invited to paint and display at the Zoo’s “Creativity in Bloom” event this weekend. Please come watch our members paint in the many beautiful and inspirational locations at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Make sure to visit our tent on the great lawn where we will have “freshly grown” works of art as well as “finely manicured ones” with subjects from the zoo and our local area.
AT FCPAP we want observers to know “Who Are We” – Perhaps a new member is just waiting to join this wonderful group of Plein Air Painters but just does not know it yet! These items will be available at our meetings. Supplies are limited. Please bring exact cash/no change available, or check. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
