Get ready to paint: March 30TH & 31ST 2019 Yes; we will be back again at Jacksonville Arboretum. You will have a wonderful opportunity to take in some fresh air while painting and selling @ Jacksonville Arboretum. The members only have the chance to paint the live oak trees, paint down by the ravine, or possibly spot an alligator swimming in the pond.
FCPAP will offer the opportunity to members only to jury artwork, have multiple tents set up to sell wet paintings, and offer demonstrations. Music will be apart of this 2 day enjoyable event.
February 9TH & 10TH, come join in the fun and paint in historic downtown Fernandina. FCPAP will begin 8AM sharp! The subjects to paint are endless. Everything from historical architect, victorian homes, shipping yards, shrimp boats, to figures – portraits. There is something there for everyone to paint. The Amelia Island is rich with Florida’s history will inspire all artist. Pack up your supplies. The date is almost hear!
Time to get out and paint!! We will paint at Big Talbot Island at The Bluffs area. The entrance to the Bluffs is easily seen on the East side of A1A. There is parking, picnic tables and facilities (port-o-lets). There is a trail that leads down onto the beach which overlooks Nassau Sound and there are many large dead trees on the beach offering plenty of subject matter for artists. The park opens at 8:00 am and there is a $3.00 per car entry fee (honor system). Weather conditions for Friday and Saturday look to be on the cool side, but sunny. Temps on Friday expected to be in the 40s in the morning rising to low 60s during the day with NW winds about 10 mph, so a little breezy. Saturday is predicted to be in the 50s – high 60s with NNE winds at about 7 mph. Bugs should not be an issue, but be prepared. Bring sunscreen and water.
Once again First Coast Plein Air Painters has been invited to participate in Winterfest by having our artists paint throughout the day around the park. Please arrive earlier than 11:00 am to allow time to set up before the crowds arrive. Parking is available in the church parking lot across the street. This is a great time to make connections and have fun! Be prepared to paint most of the day. Let Stephen Dunn know if you plan to participate so he has a head count to give to the organizers.
