The Friends of the PV Concert Hall and CCPVB have teamed up to bring an open-call art contest and celebration to the Beaches area. The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall Art Contest will culminate with an awards party announcing contest winners on Saturday, September 7, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.

at PVCH and the winning artist will be presented with a check for $1,000. The People’s Choice Award winner will also be awarded with a $1,000 prize. The winner’s artwork will be used as official, promotional artwork for the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.

Entries:

All media, including 3D works, are eligible. All entries must be prepared in a professional manner and ready for display. Frames are not required. We reserve the right to reject art.

Prizes:

The winning piece will be announced during the art contest celebration at PVCH on September 7, 2019. The winning piece will be displayed permanently at PVCH and the winning artist will be presented with a check for $1,000. The People’s Choice Award winner will also be awarded with a $1,000 prize. The winner’s artwork will be used as official, promotional artwork for the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.

Judging:

The winning piece will be selected by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall Board and representatives from the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division. Guests attending the art contest celebration will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite submission for a People’s Choice Award that will be announced the following week.

Procedures:

Artists must print and fill out an Entry Formto be turned in with their submission, the lower portion of the entry form must be filled out and attached to the base or back of submitted art. Submissions will be accepted Thursday, August 22 and Friday, August 23 between 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. All art will be exhibited at the art contest celebration at PVCH.

Marilyn Antram: Ohio-born artist and design major at Ohio State University, She has had the good fortune to be able to spend her early years in the vibrant, creative arena of American Greetings Inc., Cleveland, OH. After her employment with American Greetings Inc. she perused longevity career as a freelance designer and graphic designer. She felt the calling to leave the commercial aspect of art and pursue one in fine arts. Having done extensive illustration during her career, drawing wasn’t a issue, so she consulted with some of Jacksonville’s well known artists and began her future in Fine Arts. Marilyn Antram has found it to be a rewarding decision for her, both professionally and personally. The learning continues by interacting with many artistic and talented professionals in Jacksonville, participating in workshops, attending shows, galleries, and the opportunity to continue as a dedicated painter. She is currently both a member and treasurer for, First Coast Plein Air Painters, Jacksonville Artists Guild, St. Augustine Art Association, and Pines and Palms Artists in Thomasville, GA.
